In addition, those of you on LinkedIn can also view the official SQLBits graphic for our training day as well.

In reality, there are many reasons why you would want to attend this training day. I covered some of these points in my post about the increase in demand for Data Platform automation.

Basically, if you want to know more about using Azure DevOps for the Microsoft Data Platform this Training Day is for you.

In addition, there are also other great speakers presenting during SQLBits 2022. Which you can view on the official SQLBits 2022 schedule.

Excited about Training Day at SQLBits 2022

Me and Sander are both excited about doing this training day at SQLBits 2022. We both have extensive Azure DevOps experience, and we know people will get a lot out of it.

For those of you who have yet to watch us present I thought it would be a good idea to give an overview of our experience.

One of us has used Azure DevOps extensively as a Product Owner and took the time to gain the Microsoft Certified DevOps Engineer certification. Whilst the other has implemented in-depth technical solutions and contributed heavily to open-source solutions.

Other experience

We have presented a lot of regular sessions together about using both Azure DevOps and GitHub with the Microsoft Data Platform. In those sessions we have shown various things. For example, we have done live demos of Azure DevOps pipelines that update multiple SQL Server Databases and Azure Synapse SQL Pools.

I have already done two customized Azure DevOps training days for a client. Plus, before the pandemic we were due to do a Training Day for a SQL Saturday last year.

In addition to our presenting experience, Sander is a major contributor to the dbatools PowerShell module.

Plus, I have posted a fair few Azure DevOps related posts. Which appear often in the ‘Top Stories from the Microsoft DevOps Community’ weekly posts by Microsoft.

In fact, in the ‘Top Stories from the Microsoft DevOps Community – 2021.11.19‘ post Jay Gordon from Microsoft gave me a great compliment. Because I am always producing something new and useful.

Like the post about how to do CI/CD for serverless SQL pools using GitHub Actions. I also did a post about how to CI/CD for serverless SQL Pools using Azure DevOps as well.

It is worth noting that we have both been awarded the MVP award by Microsoft as well.

Another reason SQLBits 2022 makes me happy

There is another reason SQLBits 2022 makes me happy in addition to doing our first training day. A while back the organizers had a competition to guess the theme for SQLBits 2022. Yours truly won, as you can see in the below tweet.

I am looking forward to seeing giant game characters running around during the SQLBits party.

Final words about Azure DevOps based Training Day at SQLBits 2022

I hope you have enjoyed my plug for our Azure DevOps based training day at SQLBits 2022. We are really looking forward to sharing our knowledge with those of you who attend.

Of course, if you have any comments or queries about this post or the training day itself feel free to reach out to myself or Sander.
