SQL Server 2019 CTP 3.2 now available

Reading Time: 2 minutes

In this post I want to cover the fact that SQL Server 2019 CTP 3.2 now available. Because a funny thing happened to me last week.

I went to check where I could send feedback about SQL Server and accidentally discovered SQL Server 2019 CTP 3.2 is now available.

Which meant I ended up reading what was available in SQL Server 2019 CTP 3.2 instead of sending feedback. You can read what’s new in detail here.

There are a few updates within this new release.

For instance, big data clusters are available to more than just people who had registered for the early adopters program.

You can read more about deploying big data clusters in detail here. In addition, I previousy published a post about current learning resources for big data clusters here.

Somebody said to me last week that the final release of SQL Server 2019 cannot be too far away now.

I am inclined to agree, however there is one thing I am still expecting. Which is the ability to have system databases be part of an Availability Group.

However, we will have to wait and see if it becomes available before the final release.

Of course, support for the newer versions of the Linux distributions would also be good. Again, something else to keep an eye on since the release date is close.

Of course, I will provide the SQL Server feedback I was originally going to give. However, it will be after my anniversary for obvious reasons.
